Sellathon Launches Version 3.0 of its Popular ViewTracker Software for eBay Sellathon, the auction software maker, today launched ViewTracker 3.0, the latest version of its auction tracking system that allows eBay sellers to conduct in-depth visitor analysis of their auctions. ViewTracker users place a section of code at the end of their eBay auction descriptions and then log in to their stats. From there, they can monitor the activity on all their auctions in real-time. Sellathon CEO Wayne Yeager said, "One of our new features is the ability to see how much time a visitor spends looking at your item. This has been a real eye-opener. We now know that the average time spent looking is 26 seconds, but more important, about half of all auction visitors - 48% to be exact - spend 10 seconds or less looking at your auction." According to Nielsen/NetRatings, eBay is the #1 website in average amount of time spent per user, with an average of 41 minutes, 58 seconds. And according to Yeager, the reason the average time spent on each auction is so low is because eBay users have become masters at sizing up an auction very quickly. "If the item isn't what they expected, they're out of there in a hurry, like 2 or 3 seconds," Yeager said. "But when a serious buyer arrives, they usually spend at least a minute or two. In fact, you can almost tell who's going to bid and who's not, just by looking at how much time the visitor spends on an auction. It's uncanny." In addition to length of time spent, ViewTracker shows sellers how each visitor found their auctions, including the search terms the visitor used, the method used to sort the search results, whether the visitor is watching the item in 'My eBay', and more. ViewTracker can even tell sellers which state the visitor is from. Sellathon is offering a free introductory trial of ViewTracker for any eBay seller who wants to give it a try... at http://www.sellathon.com.
